Sharon Sue Liudahl
October 10, 1944 - May 8, 2015
SPRING GROVE, Minnesota - Sharon Sue (Rosaaen) Liudahl, 70, of Spring Grove, MN left this life on May 8, 2015 at Gundersen Health System, due to heart complications, with her loving family by her side. She was born October 10, 1944 in Caledonia, MN to Tilford and Mavis (Eglinton) Rosaaen. They later divorced and Mavis married Gilman Ingvalson. Together they had a son, Dean. Sharon was united in marriage on September 22, 1962 to Blaine Liudahl. Together, they had two daughters, Michelle and Nicole. Sharon graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1962 and later continued her education at Winona State University. She dedicated 38 years to the Spring Grove Public Schools as the Financial Secretary. After retiring from that position, she went to work for AAA and then Courtesy Corporation – McDonald’s of Onalaska for 10 years. Throughout her life, Sharon was a very active volunteer on a local, state, and national level. Some of the organizations she belonged to were the Minnesota Association of Educational Office Professionals (MAEOP) of which she served as President for multiple terms, and the National Association of Educational Office Professionals (NAEOP). The affiliation with these organizations led to the Governor of Minnesota proclaiming April 25, 1979 as “Sharon Liudahl Day.” However, her greatest accomplishment was that of serving as a member of UFARS Council, the council that developed the financial accounting system still used today in the school districts across the state of Minnesota allowing equalization of state aids. While these were great accomplishments her greatest contribution was that of being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Her extreme kindness and generosity to others throughout her entire life was evident by the way she lived each day. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Blaine; her children and grandchildren, daughter, Michelle Voelker and Scott Mack of Taos, NM; daughter Nicole and Bob Ellis, Bobby and Cole of La Crescent, MN; her brother, Dean and Chris Ingvalson, and godson Vincent of Woodbury, MN; and mother-in-law Delores Liudahl. She is also survived by many more special relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tilford Rosaaen and Mavis Ingvalson and stepfather Gilman Ingvalson; father-in-law Earl Liudahl; and many more special relatives and friends that we know she is happy to be reunited with. A celebration of her life will be held at the Spring Grove Fest Building in Spring Grove, MN on Sunday, May 17, 2015 from 4-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western WI & Southeastern MN 2700 National Drive, Suite 100 Onalaska, WI 54650.
