Oranda Carmona Folstad Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dateline: Spring Grove, MN Oranda Carmona (Folstad) Sinclair, age 95 of Spring Grove, and formerly of Mabel, MN passed away June 29, 2022 at Green Lea Manor in Mabel. She was born March 5, 1927 to Elmer and Martha (Overby) Brown, at the home of her grandparents Anton and Christine Brown, in Mabel,Mn Oranda attended School in Riceford, Mn through the 8th grade, and then went to high school in Mabel, Mn In addition to living in Riceford and Mabel, she had formerly lived in Hesper, Spring Grove, Los Alamos, NM, and Twenty-Nine Palms, CA On Jan. 27, 1950 she married Elmer Folstad, he preceded her in death. She later married Darrell Sinclair on Sept. 17, 2005, he also preceded her in death on June 14, 2022. Through the years, Oranda worked for her dad, selling dry goods, meat and groceries, she also worked at a drugstore, she helped with farm work, worked at Northern Engraving, and at a flower and antique shop, she had also volunteered at the Ballard House in Spring Grove. She was a very active member of Scheie Lutheran Church, Spring Grove Sons of Norway, and the Spring Grove Syttende Mai committee. Surviving Oranda are her children Susan (Earl) Schultz of Pine Island, MN, Neil (Betsy) of Mabel, Mn, Gary (and special friend Mary Jo Lee) of Mabel, Michael (Karen) of Spring Grove, and Jim Subra of Spring Valley, MN, Nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents Martha and Elmer and husbands Elmer and Darrell, she was preceded by her son Alan, and her daughter Joanne, and her sisters, Mona and Arlien, and one sister Marian in infancy. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Scheie Lutheran Church, rural Mabel, MN Pastor Carla Reierson will officiate. Burial will be in Scheie Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the church. Roble Funeral Home of Spring Grove is assisting the family with arrangements.
