Adelyn Marie Sanden

April 3, 1925 - September 17, 2020

Adelyn Marie Sanden, age 95 of Spring Grove passed away Sept. 17, 2020 at Tweeten Lutheran Healthcare in Spring Grove. Adelyn was born April 3, 1925, to Carl Gustav and Inga (Borreson) Larson, at Beaver Ridge, rural Black Hammer. She graduated from Spring Grove High School, and later worked at the Teacher’s college in La Crosse. On October 2, 1949, she married Beryl Sanden at Faith Lutheran Church in Black Hammer. The couple worked on the farm until 1962 when they moved back into Spring Grove. Adelyn then worked at Tweeten Healthcare as a nurses aide, and later Control Data. She had also worked at Four Square Coop and the Skyline in the kitchen. Beryl preceded Adelyn in death on June 7, 1980. Adelyn’s last job was working for Semcac Dining , she retired after 25 years. Adelyn lived at the Spring Grove Manor for 17 years, she made many friends. Every morning at 8:00 A.M. she and Helen Melbostad would call each other. After Helen passed away Adelyn’s children took over the morning calls. She was very proud of her Norwegian heritage, and especially her gnome collection. Adelyn was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove. Survivors include her Daughters Barbara Stortz of Fort Atkinson, WI, Karen (Jimmy) Renfrow of Rotonda West FL, and Bruce (Carleen) Sanden of Altoona, WI. Eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren Also surviving is her son-in-law Gordon Espelien. In Addition to her parents, and her husband she was preceded in death by her daughter Linda, and her son-in-law Ron Stortz.
